About Cheryl*

Birds are so fascinating. I love going out and quietly wandering around different natural areas, my ears and eyes reaching out to hear and spot those little feathered friends.

I’ve met and photographed wild birds in Florida, Cuba, Peru, Costa Rica, Belize, Panama, Iceland and my home province of Ontario. They make me smile, so I put them on cards and things to share with you.

All photos used for Birds with Words cards are taken by me, with minimal editing, and each bird I’ve met holds a special place in my heart.

I believe in being an ethical photographer. I am a staunch supporter of conservation and animal welfare organizations and a percentage of my profits go to a variety of organizations.

*P.S. I like birds.

I entered my Hello Egret photo into the Veolia Environnement/Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year contest and was thrilled to make it to the Semi-Finalist round.

I have contributed to fundraising books and projects to help raise funds for conservation efforts such as the Gulf Coast oil spill in 2010.
